JustAskUs is a site that provides detailed information about various health & well-being and drug & alcohol topics. The site also provides national contact details to various information, support and treatment services.
There are a number of different ways to use this site and access information;
Viewing the site
The presentation of the site can vary depending on the version of internet browser and text size that you use. The site presents best if you are using Internet Explorer Version 7 or Firefox. If you are using an earlier version of Internet Explorer, then our recommendation is to set your text size view to the 'smaller' or 'smallest' settings. Just go to View on your browser tool bar and then change the text size.
Where do I start?
‘Where do I start?' is a guided search that asks a series of questions to help you isolate your enquiry. Just click on the ‘Where do I start?' tab and follow the questions, which will lead you to relevant information about your concern.
Browse Topics
‘Browse Topics' allows you to view the topics on this site grouped into health & well-being and drugs & alcohol. You can also browse all the topics on the site through the A-Z alphabetical listing.
Each topic page details information about that subject, provides links to sites that provide further helpful information about that subject, details information to consider if you are worried about someone else and provide links to other helpful sites.
Need Help Now ?
Within each topic, there are national contact details for relevant emergency services, counselling helplines, online counselling and university counselling services. You can find these in the ‘Need Help Now ?' section on right hand side of each topic page by clicking on the tabs for 'Emergency assistence', ‘Talk to someone now', ‘Get support online now' and 'University Support Services'.
Worried about someone?
The ‘Worried about someone?' page provides information about the things you should consider before approaching someone that you are worried about. Just click on the tab to see this information.
Each topic on this site also includes a ‘Worried about someone else' section. This section details some suggestions about how to approach someone you know who is dealing with a particular problem that is relevant to your topic of concern.
Search facility
The Search facility allows you to type in a subject and search this site for information about that subject.
Our service also provides links to many health & well-being and alcohol & other drug sites nationally. The Search facility allows you to search these sites by subject. Just type your subject in the search field, click on the 'search other sites' option and hit the search button.
